Kathy Major President
Kathy Major is Innovanté Benefit Administrators' president for TPA Operations. She has over 20 years' experience in the health care and pharmacy industries and is an expert in creating scalable platforms in order to deliver the highest level of customer service. She joined Innovanté Benefit Administrators in May 2008.
Professional Experience Prior to joining Innovanté Benefit Administrators, Major served as the president and CEO of CNIC Health Solutions (CNIC), a Colorado-based third party administrator of employee benefit plans. In that position, she headed a company of 140 employees within three locations, serving approximately 200 clients throughout the U.S. Major launched the privately held operation in April 2001 and led the organization through a start-up, a merger and acquisition, and ultimately the sale of the organization to a key investor in 2004. During her tenure, she focused on the provision of a full spectrum of qualified and financial return-based medical management initiatives, and created a scalable and highly efficient infrastructure. She served as board chair, and successfully implemented several key initiatives related to the best use of technology and operational efficiencies to support the company's core orientation to customer service excellence.
Prior to joining CNIC, Major was employed by PacifiCare Health Systems and its predecessor from 1987 to 2001. She was ultimately named PacifiCare's vice president of operations, for the central region, in 1997 representing a 630,000 member plan, based in California. In that position, she was responsible for managing 500 employees in all managed care product lines and in all operational functions. Key accomplishments included the provision of operations and due diligence and successful health plan acquisitions, divestitures, transitions, and system conversions. Performance standards had improved by over 50% in claims, customer service and membership accounting functions at the time of her departure in April 2001. Major implemented an imaging and workflow process for the company's California operation that received technological recognition from the Smithsonian Institute.
Specialized Skills/Significant Accomplishments She has received numerous service achievements throughout her career and has also co-chaired the Colorado Springs Memories in the Making event for 1999 and 2000 in coordination with the Alzheimer's Association.

Marty Ward Regional Sales Director, Third-party Administrator Sales
Marty Ward is a Regional Sales Director for TPA Sales. He possesses over 25 years of experience in sales and account management. Ward is a peak-performing professional with extensive experience in sales and marketing, account management, relationship development, customer service, team leadership, lead generation, contract negotiation, and problem resolution. He joined Innovanté Benefit Administrators in June 2008.
Professional Experience Prior to joining Innovanté Benefit Administrators, Ward served as an account executive for Rocky Mountain Health Plans. He developed a complete understanding of the underwriting process. In that position, he sold and marketed self-funded, ASO, and fully insured products to brokers and consultants. Ward negotiated stop-loss insurance on new and renewal business, as well as, negotiated complex contracts with vendors to obtain the best rates and fees for potential clients. He was also responsible for delivering customized presentations to prospective brokers, consultants, and clients on a weekly basis.
Previous to his employment with Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Ward served as the account executive of CNIC Health Solutions, Inc. (CNIC), a Colorado-based TPA of employee benefit plans. During his tenure, he managed accounts in a four-state territory (CO, CA, NV, and AZ). He prospected and marketed new products and services to the broker and consultant communities. Ward sold and marketed self-funded, ASO, and fully insured products to brokers and consultants. He led the sales force by example to achieve and surpass goals and objectives.
Ward has a strong ability to identify market plan needs, create actionable programs, and collaborate effectively with diverse departments. He has achieved outstanding success in building and maintaining long-term relationships with key executives and has established large-volume, high-profit accounts with excellent levels of retention and loyalty.

Jon Sanders Regional Sales Director, Third-party Administrator Sales
Jon Sanders is a Regional Sales Director for TPA Sales. He has over 25 years of experience in employee benefit administration and the health insurance industry. He has vast experience in developing high performance, customer-centric teams and business processes, providing customers with an exceptional care experience and positive financial results.
Professional Experience Prior to joining Innovanté Benefit Administrators, Sanders served as Director of Sales & Account Management for Kaiser Permanente NW (KPNW). In that position, he was responsible for new business development and account management. Sanders directed activities for large group, national & labor accounts, and small business group segments. He participated in many regional and national product designs, including development of KPNW’s self-funded plans for large employers.
Sanders has over 10 years of self-funding experience, including management of several regional TPAs, and has managed a national sales team for a West Coast stop loss carrier. He was a co-founder of an Oregon-based TPA, and he understands the challenges and needs of employers who are seeking self-funding. He has worked directly with both brokers and employers to develop personalized self-funded plans.
In addition, Sanders has experience working with national provider networks, and medical review and disease management vendors that provide a consultative approach to development of cost-effective plans. He also was VP of Benefit Administration for Blue Cross/Shield of Oregon, where he developed effective claims management and reporting systems for employers.

Teresa Miller is Innovanté Benefit Administrators director for TPA Operations. She has over 17 years of experience in the medical insurance industry.
